SATURDAY
So we slept sometime on Friday, I know we did, because on Saturday morning Milamber made us !Pancakes!Yay!
But time passed, and while Milamber wandered off to the Hentai panel, Sarabi and I spent "An Evening Totally Wasted with Jan Frasier." When we all returned to the room, again hours later, we ordered roomservice - macNcheese for Sarabi, carrot cake for me, and a Chi-town burger for Milamber. Yeah - together, we make a pretty good meal.
SUNDAY On Sunday we had to choose between attending a yoga session with Jan Frazier or a plus-sized cosplay panel. We ended up going to the panel, which was hosted by people who were *gasp*shock* plus-sized! They were mostly from Cosplayplus.com, icosplay.com, and amethystangel.com, Unfortunately, while I got, like two good tips from the whole thing, on the whole this and the Shonen Ai panel reminded me of all of the reasons why I cannot abide fanpanels. (Which makes me wonder how MP's panels go...?) After the plus-sized cosplay panel, I stayed for a Learn How to Play GO panel and won my first go game!! Uhm. I really don't understand it any better, but *shrug* I won, so there!
After the Go panel, Sarabi and Milamber picked me up for another trip to the Dealer's Room. While there we had a lunch of pizza and pop (expensive much?!?!) and sat at a table with some teenage boys who were watching a later fansub of Naruto... Their comments? "Man that's Gay. Seriously. That's gay!" And they sounded as if they halfway meant it, which made me wonder what ep they were on... Of course I knew it was Sasuke and Naruto... duh! They finally left (got spooked off) and boy from "not Zionsville" joined us. He was apparently from a small community NEAR Zionsville, Indiana.
When we got back to the room we watched more FMA (guess what the theme Anime was for the trip? ^_^) and packed our bags. We finally fell asleep and slept like the DEAD (and broke) otaku we were.
Monday Mondays are hell in the first place, but having to get up at 6AM to make a 7am train in Chicago? One of the inner circles of hell, I am sure. But we did it - managing to make it to the Union Station with no problems. The train boarded at 8.24 am, taking Milamber and Sarabi back to St. Louis. Normally I like to stay until the train leaves, but Security was staring at me and so I left. After a "scenic detour" in downtown Chicago, I finally make the proper connections and get onto my highway. I manage to nap a couple of times at a few reststops and even finish the Kindaichi manga that I'd finally bought (Wow! I didn't suspect the guy at ALL! I thought it was the twin! Really!).
Tuesday No one at work expected me in, which is really funny since they had scheduled me for two meetings -_-. Ah well. Life returns to normal all too soon. But it's only a few months until September... when I go to the St. Louis Japanese Festival!
