My ACEN Adventure in 2003!

Okay, now see? This whole thing is seven pages in Word. So no one better complain *glares at YOU* that this is so vague. I don't wanna think how long this would be if I tried to add all the DETAILS about the stuff that went on. So here goes: Maeyan goes to Acen 2003, in five parts!

PT 1. Ever been sure that the fates were determinedly set against you? I was already low on funds to go to Acen this year when the Gas Company decided to suddenly find the paperwork that allowed them to automatically deduct our gas bill from my account- a very high bill (*glares at thermostat*).

As any one who reads this will undoubtedly know, this resulted in even more frantic pulling-of-the-hair and I was wracked with guilt about going at all. I wasn't even sure I could afford to go anymore.

But I decided to ignore the voices in my head and instead pay attention to the voices in my house and PC. Y'know, the ones that threatened me bodily harm if I didn't "shut up and go for gods sake!" And so, I called Ace Rent-A-Car and made sure that my tentative reservation, made months before, was still there. It was a good thing I'd called - they had no record of it.

A quick look at the calendar as I tell them the dates I will be needing the car reveals that it will be a full moon weekend. Great. I find out about the eclipse later.

So time passes. Slowly.

Finally. I am supposed to leave the house and be at Ace to pick up the car at 7:30 Friday morning. So, why oh why was I up until 3am reading Hikaru no Go slash on FFNet? After a full day's work and almost no sleep the night before, what with pre-con excitement, pre-trip jitters, and packing.

Ah, the mysteries of the world.

SO! I finally get to bed and sleep a few hours. On Friday morning, Amy (who'd fallen asleep on the couch at, like, 6pm, and then slept all through my laughter-filled romp into HnG slash) and I got up in plenty of time and we rush over to Ace (now, here is where we were late… *whistles innocently*) so I can pick up the car and she can head into work.

Well, luckily I'd asked her to wait around because they didn't have a car available. I end up waiting about 20 minutes while we wait for the guy to bring back the only thing they have available: a Pontiac Vibe - purple.

interlude: I am now officially in love! That "car" was made for me! Perfect size, perfect shape, perfect amount of packing space AND leg-room, and I could reach the back seat while still sitting! And a sunroof!!!!!!!

(okay - I'll admit I didn't notice the sunroof until Saturday) I've never liked or wanted a brand-spanking new car before - I tend to lean towards older models- But I now am desperate for a Vibe. *pauses* yes. Well, that too.

To Be Continued! whether you like it or not. Phlllbt

Part Two: "On the road again"
